Reception for Lydia Wilson Memorial Exhibition at Reece Museum: A reception for the “Lydia Wilson Memorial Exhibition” at the Reece Museum at East Tennessee State University will be held Saturday, May 11, from 2-4 p.m. Before her death in July 2018, Wilson was prominent in the region as a mixed media artist, designer and teacher. The reception and exhibit, which is on display through May 24, are free and open to the public. For more information, call the Reece Museum at 423-439-4392. Mother’s Day Brunch, Beer and Bouquets at JRH Brewing: Sunday, May 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food will be provided by A.M. Kingsport. Flowers are by Charlotte's Florals. Beer by JRH Brewing.

Mommaroo: Mother's Day Market at The Mall at Johnson City: A Mother's Day Market will be on the Upper Level in and around JCPenney Court May 11 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. This is a one day event with vendors and businesses catering to moms. A Food Truck Junction Event will be in the parking lot in front of Entrance A located between JCPenney and Ulta.

2019 Pinnacle Awards: The Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association will host the 22nd Annual Pinnacle Awards starting at 11:30 a.m. with a mix and mingle. The awards ceremony begins at 12:45 p.m. The event is presented by the Bristol Motor Speedway and produced in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development honoring tourism’s top performers in the industry when it comes to economic and community development.

Pamper Mothers at Belk event: Join Belk from 4 to 7 p.m. when they will be giving every mother (while supplies last) a chocolate covered strawberry and rose. Belk will also be offering neck and shoulder massages, facials, quick hair refresh (curls), make up retouches, and facial waxing. All cosmetic counters will be available for appointments. MAC will be giving away 10 day studio fix fluid samples and be doing free demos of their new matte lipstick.

Food Truck Junction at The Mall at Johnson City: May 11 in the parking lot at the Main Entrance between JCPenney and Ulta from noon to 7 p.m. Show up for another round of Food Truck Junction Saturday. Check Facebook for a full list of vendors.

Bojangles Bikin’ and Eggs Ride: What's better than Trek Bicycle's, The Tweetsie Trail, and Bojangles Tri Cities?? How about when you put them all together!! Join Trek Bicycle Store Johnson City for the Bojangles Bikin' & Eggs Ride on Saturday for this family friendly breakfast ride. It's wheels up from the store at 8:30 a.m., with free registration starting at 8 a.m. The route is 80% crushed stone bicycle path and 10 miles total. Much like it's big brother the Taco Trek, the Bojangles Bikin & Eggs Ride operates at a casual "conversational" pace where any and all ages and skill levels are welcome.

Carter County Student Film Festival hosted by Stateline Drive-in Theater: May 9, Stateline Drive-In Theater in Elizabethton will host the first Carter County Student Film Festival. Students from Elizabethton High School and Hampton High School will be presenting short films and videos that are fully student developed and created. The event is open to the public and is free admission. Concessions will be sold. The start time is at dark, approximately 8:30 p.m.

Art in the Park: The 11th annual Art in the Park held on the International Storytelling Center grounds is May 11 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The goal of this show is to highlight the fine art produced in our region. The Town of Jonesborough is dedicated to bringing the community at large closer together and show other communities the creative influence that the arts can bring to their quality of life.

BBQ Supper and Fundraiser for Boones Creek Museum and Opry: The Boones Creek Museum and Opry is looking to acquire a larger full-time venue for our fabulous Museum and Opry. In order to do that, they need funds and lots of them. In order to do that, they are hosting a BBQ fundraiser with raffle drawings. To purchase raffle tickets and meal tickets, you may stop by our Museum and Opry Tuesday-Saturday between 10 a.m and 5 p.m. Raffle tickets are $10 for a chance to win one of five prizes: 25 BBQ Suppers Catered by Simm's Pizzeria and Bone's Creek BBQ, one of two $50 Roadrunner Gift Cards for Gas, $100 Gift Card for Groceries from Food City, 2 Tickets for the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre with a one night stay at Blair-Moore House Bed and Breakfast
