Jonesborough Repertory Theatre, 125 W Main St, Jonesborough.

Auditions: Jonesborough Repertory Theatre will hold auditions for its production of, “Shrek the Musical” Monday and Tuesday, October 1 and 2. There are roles for ages 9 through adult, with seven principle roles and a strong ensemble. Auditions will consist of singing, dancing and a cold reading. Participants are asked to prepare a one-minute audition song. It is preferred for songs to be sung without music, but an accompanist will be provided. Bring sheet music in a 3-ring binder for the accompanist. The dance audition will consist of tap and basic musical theatre dance. Wear dance shoes and bring tap shoes to the audition. Actors do not have to tap to be considered for a role. Show dates are March 21 - April 14. Theatre Bristol, 512 State Street, Bristol.

Auditions: Theatre Bristol will hold auditions for actors of all ages for the timeless Christmas classic, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” Parts available include those for adults and almost 15 roles for children along with several non-speaking roles. Auditions will take place October 6 at 10:30 a.m., ad October 8 and 9 at 5:30 p.m. October 10 will be used for callbacks if they are needed. No preparation is necessary for auditions. Bring calendars to note conflicts. Rehearsals will begin October 15 and the show runs November 30-December 16. 

Kingsport Theatre Guild, 1200 E Center St, Kingsport.

Auditions: Prepare for some wacky Christmas fun with auditions for, “Nuncrackers, The Nunsense Christmas Musical,” at the Kingsport Theatre Guild. With a largely female cast, this musical also features a few male and children’s roles as well. Auditions will be held October 1 and 2 at 6 p.m. Callbacks, if they are needed, will be October 4 at 6 p.m. Show dates are December 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. and December 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 2 p.m. Possible school shows may be December 7 and 14 at 10 a.m. For more information, visit kingsporttheatre,org.
