What’s up next:
• Sept. 9: To kick off this concert season, JCSO will begin with a free outdoor pops concert at the Memorial Park Amphitheater, 510 Bert St., in Johnson City starting at 6 p.m. Bring friends and family along with chairs, blankets and even a picnic basket for A Little Night Music. This concert is being sponsored by Charles and Susan Caudle, along with Eastman Credit Union, Evergreen Terrace Apartments, East Tennessee Foundation, Tennessee Arts Commission, Carolyn Rabb Bookkeeping and Tax Service, Angelia Merrifield, Jan & Sylvia Peters, Dong and Rim Shin, and Walmart. This concert is a partnership between the above sponsors and donors in support of the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra’s after school project with Coalition for Kids.
• Sept. 10: Give your input at a community forum at the Johnson City downtown library beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Robert Seebacher, JCSO Music Director, will be taking your suggestions and questions as planning begins for JCSO’s next 50 years!
What to look for next:
* A fully staged performance of the Nutcracker including East Tennessee Ballet Academy and Mountain Empire Children Choral Academy for the holiday season.
•Chee-Yun Kim returns to the stage, and cellist Inbal Segev makes her JCSO debut.
• A huge men’s choir and ETSU’s own Esther Park concludes the masterworks season.
