Dec. 18, 2008: Phil Roe resigned his post as Johnson City mayor and commissioner, having won his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives that November. The Johnson City Commission voted to install traffic cameras at some high-volume intersections for the first time.
Dec. 18, 2015: Construction was completed on the Pavilion at Founders Park in downtown Johnson City. The $2 million project on the historic site of the Windsor Hotel was to built to be home to the Johnson City Farmers Market and special events.
