A note to our readers

Johnson City Press • Mar 22, 2020 at 4:00 AM

Beginning Monday, the Johnson City Press will begin limiting public access to its offices at 204 W. Main St.

“We ask that transactions and interactions with the Press staff be conducted, if at all possible, via phone, email or the U.S. Postal Service,” said Rick Thomason, publisher of the Press. “Our staff will continue to man our indoor secure window and accept transactions through it, but the alternative methods of payments previously mentioned are preferred. No one other than staff and select vendors will be allowed beyond that point.

“This was a decision made to further protect our associates as we honor the requests of health officials to physically distance ourselves from one another,” Thomason added. “By making this move, we improve our chances of retaining staffing resources to continue delivering the news daily.”

As soon as we feel it is safe and practical to do so, we will again welcome the public into our facilities. We thank you for your continued support and ask everyone to stay safe.
