Healthier Tennessee wants you to walk across the state this summer

If you’re looking to get more active and win prizes just for walking, Healthier Tennessee has just the initiative for you.

As part of its “Live Well Washington” initiative, the organization is starting a “Walk Across Tennessee” program, where teams accumulate miles from walking June 10 to Aug. 5, with a goal of figuratively walking across Washington County, and eventually, Tennessee.

Teams can walk together or individually to rack up miles every week over the eight-week program. Each team will designate a captain and can include up to five members.

The captain will be responsible for completing the team registration form and providing each team member with individual registration forms. All forms must be submit to [email protected] before June 10. Captains will also add up their team’s miles every week and submit them via website by 5 p.m. each Monday.

Tennessee is about 440 miles long, so teams will certainly have their work cut out for them. Winners will be announced at the end of the eight weeks, and forms can be found at https://bit.ly/2Iwelkf.
