Tennessee reports 395 new cases, 14 deaths from COVID-19

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 395 new cases and 14 new deaths Saturday from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) compared to Friday’s report.

The statewide case count grew to 19,789 since tracking began in March. The death toll reached 329. The state also reported 179 new recoveries for a total of 12,745 and 13 new hospitalizations for a total of 1,573. Labs in the state reported 5,588 new tests had been performed for a total of 373,758.

The Northeast Tennessee case count increased by five to 250. Washington County had four new cases, and Greene County had one new case. The region’s death toll remained steady at seven. Recoveries were stagnant at 229. There were 14 active cases in the eight-county region. Labs reported 172 more negative test results in the upper eight counties for a total of 13,017.
