Tennessee COVID-19: 429 new cases, 4 new deaths

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 429 new cases and four new deaths Thursday from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) compared to Wednesday’s report.

The statewide case count grew to 18,961 since tracking began in March. The death toll reached 313. The state also reported 408 new recoveries for a total of 12,191 and 24 new hospitalizations for a total of 1,539. Labs in the state reported 6,570 new tests had been performed for a total of 360,583.

The Northeast Tennessee case count was reduced by one to 243. Three cases were new removed in Washington County and two were added in Sullivan Counties. The region’s death toll remained steady at seven. Recoveries increased by four for a total of 228. There were eight active cases in the eight-county region. Labs reported 181 more negative test results in the upper eight counties for a total of 12,740.
