COVID-19: Hancock County reports 1st case among 367 new cases in Tennessee

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 367 new cases and four new deaths Tuesday from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) compared to Monday’s report. Rural Hancock County reported its first case of the virus.

The statewide case count grew to 18,378 since tracking began in March. The death toll reached 305. The state also reported 1,969 new recoveries for a total of 10,969 and nine new hospitalizations for a total of 1,498. Labs in the state reported 8,695 new tests had been performed for a total of 346,123.

The Northeast Tennessee case count grew by six to 243, and the death toll remained steady at seven. Recoveries increased by 21 for a total of 221. There were 15 active cases in the eight-county region. Labs reported 130 more negative test results in the upper eight counties for a total of 12,528.
