COVID-19: 14 new deaths in Tennessee

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 329 new cases and 14 new deaths Thursday from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) compared to Wednesday’s report.

The statewide case count grew to 16,669 since tracking began in March. The death toll reached 286.

The state also reported 257 new recoveries for a total of 8,881 and 47 new hospitalizations for a total of 1,435. Labs in the state reported 9,400 new tests had been performed for a total of 302,317.

The case count grew by five in Northeast Tennessee to 237. The death toll remained steady at seven. There were two new recoveries for a total of 199. There were 31 active cases in the eight-county region.
