Updated: 15 new deaths in Tennessee from COVID-19

The Tennessee Department of Health reported a total of 4,634 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus as of Thursday, an increase of 272 from the 4,362 reported Wednesday. The death toll had reached 94, up 15 from the day before.

None of the new deaths was reported in Northeast Tennessee’s upper eight counties. That count remained at three — one each in Greene, Hawkins and Sullivan counties. The majority of deaths — 77 — were in people over the age of 60.

The Northeast Tennessee case count reached 116, up 15 from 101 on Wednesday.

The report also noted 505 statewide hospitalizations and 921 recovered cases.
