The invitations will include a short information section in English and 12 other languages prompting people to respond by phone or online. Households are encouraged to respond when they receive their invitations. Roughly one-fifth of households will receive a paper questionnaire instead.
All households that receive an initial invitation will get a second letter in the mail reminding them to respond. Those that don’t will see additional reminders mailed to them, along with a paper questionnaire in mid-April. Census takers will follow-up with those who don’t submit a response.
