State Sen. Rusty Crowe, R-Johnson City, said Wednesday the Washington County-Jonesborough Library, Unicoi County Public Library and the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library will receive Training Opportunities for the Public grants.

The grants are made possible by the Tennessee Broadband Accessibility Act and a partnership with the state Department of Economic and Community Development and the Tennessee Secretary of State’s Office.

The 3rd Senate District will be receiving a total of $5,100 in TOP grants. They include:

• $1,200 for Washington County-Jonesborough Library.

• $1,500 for the Unicoi County Public Library.

• $2,400 for the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library.

TOP grants provide funding for trainers, hardware and software for free technology training classes for communities.

“I am excited to see the impact that these grants will have for our local libraries and am very glad residents in my district will be benefitting from the TOP program,” Crowe said in a news release.
