ELIZABETHTON — A bridge across Buffalo Creek on Reeser Road that was built in 1960 will be scheduled for replacement if the Elizabethton City Council approves the engineering agreement with Mattern and Craig engineers.

The bridge is part of the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Bridge Inspection Program. After a recent inspection at the request of the city, TDOT determined the bridge is in poor condition and should be replaced.

The city has no financial obligation for the design and construction of the bridge. The city may be responsible for purchasing any property right of way for access to the approaches and relocation onto the new bridge.
