It was a weekend for aces at local golf courses as no fewer than six holes-in-one were reported.

Chris Sampson, Kenneth Lowe, Tina Williams, Robert Brewer, Brad Colburn and John Angelopoulos probably don’t know each other, but they all went down in local golf lore as making the holes-in-one on a busy weekend.

Sampson and Lowe’s aces came at Johnson City Country Club. Sampson aced the 138-yard second hole with a pitching wedge. The shot was witnessed by Kacey Hambrick.

Lowe’s hole-on-one was at JCCC’s seventh hole, playing 132 yards. He used a 7-iron and was playing with Tony Wilhoit, Steve Fox and Randy Clay.

Graysburg Hills Golf Course in Chuckey was the site of Williams’ and Brewers’ gems.

Williams holed out on the 102-yard third hole at Graysburg’s Chimney Top nine. She used an 8-iron and was witnessed by her playing partner Chris Salyers.

Brewer’s ace was at No. 8 on Graysburg’s Fodder Stack nine, playing 152 yards. He used an 8-iron and was playing with Scott Kelley.

Colburn and Angelopoulos made their aces at Crockett’s Ridge Golf Course in Kingsport.

Colburn’s came at the second hole, playing 118 yards, and he used a 52-degree wedge. His witnesses were his daughter Madyson Colburn and Chris Mosher.

Angelopoulos’ ace was his first in 60 years of golfing. It came at the sixth hole and he hit a 7-iron from 157 yards out. He was playing with Bo Hickman, Randy Humphries and Jason Otto.
