Cherokee’s Collin Trent had his hands on the ball most of the night.

But it was one time when he didn’t take a snap that preserved the win. Trent’s diving interception inside the Chiefs’ 5-yard line protected a 27-23 win over Morristown East. It added to an already big game for Trent, who was chosen as the Johnson City Press/Times News player of the week Monday.

Here’s the honor roll:

Collin Trent

Cherokee, QB

Helping his team stay undefeated, the senior totaled 272 total yards and all four TDs in a 27-23 win over Morristown East. On defense, Trent had a forced fumble and two interceptions — including a game-saving grab with 13.8 seconds left.

Connor Batchelder

Science Hill, QB

The senior was terrific in a surprising 52-14 blowout of Hardin Valley. He connected on 18 of 27 passes for 340 yards and four touchdowns.

Parker Hughes

Elizabethton, WR

Superb on both sides of the ball, the junior caught three touchdown passes in a 63-9 rout of Sullivan East. He also picked off a pass and rambled 38 yards for a fourth score.

Cade Larkins

David Crockett, QB

Leading his team to a 48-19 win over Volunteer, the senior hit on 16 of 26 tosses for 269 yards and five touchdowns.
