Crockett's Larkins soars to top of honor roll

David Crockett quarterback Cade Larkins produced another stellar performance in the Pioneers’ 55-28 win over Corryton Gibbs on Friday night. He earned the top spot in the Johnson City Press/Times News Player of the Week awards.

Connecting for five touchdown tosses for the second straight week, the junior was true on 18 of 24 attempts and totaled 352 yards through the air against Gibbs.

Elizabethton, QB

In a battle of unbeaten teams, the senior hit on 22 of 29 passes for 248 yards and three scores as the Cyclones crunched Daniel Boone, 38-10.


Luke Pollack

Sullivan South, QB

Gate City didn’t find an answer for the senior, who racked up 279 total yards — including 199 rushing on 25 carries — in the 28-13 win.


Eli Dorton

Volunteer, QB

The Falcons soared, getting 221 yards passing and three scores from their junior in a 41-27 win over Sullivan East.


JR Giles

David Crockett, DL

It was an offensive shootout, but the defense contributed. The senior had two fumble recoveries, including one he returned 31 yards for a score.
