A residential fire in Johnson City brought out a slew of first responders Sunday afternoon, as firetrucks and EMS vehicles blocked the small street of Cresland Lane.

The Johnson City Fire Department was notified of the fire at 2705 Cresland about 2:30 Sunday afternoon. According to Fire Chief Jim Stables, they reported 75 percent of the home was in flames.

Stables said that two residents who were in the house at the time of the fire were sent to the hospital, but only for “precautionary reasons."

Firefighters continued to battle the flames for almost two hours when at 4:31 p.m. the fire was determined to be under control.

The cause of the fire had not been determined, and Stables said that authorities could not begin to investigate the cause until they were sure the fire was out.

Around 5:30 p.m. 10 more firefighters arrived at the home to relieve colleagues in the efforts to make sure the fire was extinguished.

"We'll have a presence until the fire's completely out. That’s what we do. And you can be proud of your Johnson City firefighters. They're good folks," said Stables.
