Now that we are past Thanksgiving, the time for Christmas programs and celebrations will be filling the calendar. One of the earliest this year is the Annual “Life of Christ” exhibition at Piney Flats First Baptist Church, 100 Cherry St., Piney Flats. The event will take place on Nov. 30 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and again on Dec. 1 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Nativity scenes using live actors and animals have become a tradition at churches around the area, but Piney Flats goes much farther, with a series of scenes the Life of Christ.

A series of stages have been erected around the campus of the church to house each of the scenes from the Life of Christ. The program is titled “Journey.” The stages are designed so that viewers can drive from stage to stage in their car.

This year, the. number of scenes has been increased with a series on the Miracles of Christ.

“This tells the Christmas story, but it depicts the entire life of Christ,” church music minster Brian Wilson said. The exhibits begin with Bible prophecy, showing the Old Testament prophecies about Christ.

“This is a program that is good for all members of the family,” Wilson said. “It has a real evangelistic emphasis and our hope is to reach others.”

Dr. Allen Davis is pastor of the church.
