Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, 197 Suncrest St., Gray: Sunday morning service at 11 with a special Veterans Day emphasis honoring veterans in all branches of the armed forces. A gift will be given to all veterans, special music will be featured and a color guard will present the flag. First United Methodist Church, 900 Spring St., Johnson City: "Little is Much" will be the sermon for the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Programs for the children and youth will be at 4:30 p.m. The Branch, a contemporary worship service led by Steve Reis, minister of discipleship and outreach, will begin in the sanctuary at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday supper will be served at 5:45 p.m. in the fellowship hall. New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, 107 Peters Hollow Road, Elizabethton: All military veterans will be recognized Sunday during the 11 a.m. worship service. The New Liberty Revival Choir and Laura Coleman will honor the veterans with various patriotic and military branch musical selections. Lunch will be served in the church fellowship center following the morning services for all the veterans, church family and visitors. There will be no evening worship service.

Clark Street Baptist Church, 200 Clark St., Johnson City: “The Future of Israel.” Clark Street Baptist will honor and recognize veterans during the morning worship with an American flag and video presentation. Unity Church of the Tri-Cities: "Planting Seeds to Multiply Your Abundance." The service will begin at 11 a.m. at The Carnegie Hotel, Alfred Taylor Salon (lower level), 1216 W. Special events and sermons:

Revival: Revival will begin at Cherokee Community Freewill Baptist Church, 478 Bill Bennett Road, Johnson City, on Nov. 12 at 7 nightly. Preaching will be Nick Shortridge and Mike Dye of Virginia. There will be special singing each night. Information, 423-737-7498.

Sullivan County Red Back Church Hymnal Sing: Clay Hill Baptist Church, 122 Hobbs Hollow Road, Blountville, will host the Sullivan County Red Back Church Hymnal Sing Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. The group meets every third Saturday. The church is located just off U.S. Highway 11W approximately five miles west of the Pinnacle Shopping Center in Bristol.

Soup supper and fall revival: Jackson Park Church of the Brethren, 100 Oak Grove Ave., Jonesborough, is having a soup supper on November 10 from 5-7 p.m. Donations will go to the Jackson Park Youth for their Puerto Rico mission trip scheduled in the spring. The Jackson Park Church of the Brethren Fall Revival, with Don Hilton from Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren, will be held Nov. 11-13 at 7 p.m. and on Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. to coordinate with the Youth Club schedule. There will be a covered-dish meal after preaching on Sunday morning and dinner will be provided nightly for everyone from 5:30-6:45 to make it easier for those who work to attend the revival. Special music will be provided by Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren on Sunday evening, The Brown Family on Monday, The Slagle Family on Tuesday and the Stick Ministry on Wednesday.

Women’s ministry: The Gray UMC women's ministry, 4 G's, will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The November theme is "Wobble! Gobble!" and there will be plenty of food to start the Thanksgiving holiday. Everyone is asked to bring a favorite covered dish and the 4 G's will provide cake for dessert. Keri Hicks is the special guest speaker this month. A nursery is provided for young children. Fire at the Forge: The “Fire at the Forge” fall revival at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church,1503 Riverview Drive, Elizabethton, will be Nov. 11-15. The weeknight services begin at 7 on Monday with Pastor Bob McCurry, from Buladean, North Carolina, Tuesday with Pastor David Dugger, from Greeneville, and The Singing Duggers, Wednesday with Pastor Noah Taylor, from Erwin, and Thursday with Jim McComas, from Nashville.
