After 38 years as the lead pastor at Grace Fellowship Church, Tom Oyler stepped down to begin his new role at Pastor Emeritus.

This will free him from daily church operations and allow him to create fresh ministries that will encourage, teach and disciple the congregation at Grace Fellowship Church.

The new lead pastor, Matt Murphy, has been with the church for four years and graduated from Belmont University in Nashville.

“I believe God has brought Matt to us for such a time as this,” Oyler said. “We always look for three things in our staff — character, competency and chemistry. Murphy has all three and more.

“Matt’s commitment to God and his word and our vision of helping people take the next steps in the ultimate journey of being changed and used by Christ make the future of Grace Fellowship full of hope and promise.”

Grace Fellowship set aside Nov. 3-4 for special events for Tom and Leslie Oyler. Saturday night will feature an evening event, and there will be special services on Nov. 4 at 9:15 and 11 a.m.
