The organization is seeking nominations for the grand marshal of the Johnson City Christmas Parade, scheduled for Dec. 1.

“There are many wonderful individuals in Johnson City who have made significant contributions to our community, so this year we decided to seek nominations for the person or group who would hold the honor of grand marshal for this upcoming event,” Caroline Abercrombie, a parade committee member, said in a press release.

The deadline for submissions is Sunday, Nov. 18. Email the names of the person or group you want to be grand marshal to [email protected].

“12 Days of Christmas” will be the theme of this year’s parade, which begins at 10:30 a.m. The parade will start on the campus of East Tennessee State University and will cross University Parkway and travel onto West Walnut Street, turn onto Buffalo Street, then cross East State of Franklin Road and continue down East Main Street. The route will then turn onto Colonial Way and conclude in the Old Big Burley Lot at the corner of Legion Street and East State of Franklin.

First-, second- and third-place prizes will be presented as part of the “Best Float” competition.
