Explore the great outdoors with annual Meet the Mountains Festival

What: The inaugural Meet the Mountains festival brings those with a passion for the outdoors together for a weekend of special events and activities catering to beginners, advanced outdoorsmen and everything in between. 

When: Friday and Saturday 

Where: Founders Park in Johnson City 

What can you do at the festival? 

• Four zones categorized into different outdoor recreation activities and vendors including mountain biking, obstacle and rope courses, try out an off-road vehicle or paddleboard, test fishing poles, sign up for a yoga class. 

• Other activities include informative sessions, music, food trucks, a silent disco and outdoor movies.

• 55 different vendors 

• Off-site events and competitions including: The Nolichucky Triple Threat, Buffalo Mountain Sunrise Hike, Roan Mountain State Park’s Full Moon Balds Hike, AllTrails Cycling’s Sugar Rush XC Race & Sugar 6 Marathon Race, Winged Deer Disc Golf Tournament, Sunset Hike and Shallow Water Snorkeling at Rocky Fork State Park, Run the Tweetsie 5K & 10K, Ladies Mountain Bike Ride at Tannery Knobs, Group Mountain Bike Ride at ETSU Trail System, Discover Jacob’s Nature Park at Sinking Creek, ETSU Basler team Challenge Aerial Adventure Course, Bays Mountain Fire Tower Hike, and Boot Camp Fitness Class at Kingsport Family YMCA.
