ELIZABETHTON — After having to reschedule the event because of bad and cold weather, Keep Carter County Beautiful had a great day to plant trees on the Tweetsie Trail last Saturday.

Keep Carter County Beautiful Chairman Ed Jordan said the event had a “great turnout” and “great weather.”

Jordan went on to say “thank you Mike Mains, director of the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department, for supplying the trees and evergreens and pre-digging the holes for the trees. Through all your efforts this event was a huge success and an everlasting one the will continue to give beauty for years to come on out Tweetsie Trail.”

Spring is usually a time when Keep Carter County Beautiful is busy, but the Tweetsie Trail project will be the last one for a while this year.

Because of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the organization has canceled its monthly board meeting. All other scheduled events sponsored by KCCB are also cancelled until further notice.
