Plant Swap set on Saturday in Johnson City

Free plants, anyone? Head over to the parking lot at Roddy’s Flowers, 703 S. Roan St. on Saturday at 10 a.m. Bring plants, seeds, cuttings or bulbs to trade with others. The Johnson City Plant Swap will be held the second Saturday of each month. It began in April, but there are still three events to attend — May 12, June 9 and July 14. MPCC offers hula hoop wreath workshop: Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., is offering adults a chance to get in on the latest do-it-yourself trend: super-sized wreaths created with hula hoops, greenery, artificial flowers, ribbon and washi tape. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m.-noon on Wednesday, May 16. Cost is $10. Register at MPCC by Friday, May 11. For more information, call 423-434-5749.
