ELIZABETHTON — In-person graduation ceremonies for graduates of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Elizabethton have been postponed. The ceremonies had been scheduled for Aug. 13 in Seeger Chapel on the campus of Milligan University.

TCAT-Elizabethton President Dean Blevins said there are still too many unknowns in coping with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

“We are concerned with ensuring the safety of our college family, including faculty, staff and students,” he said.

Blevins said TCAT-Elizabethton is following COVID-19 health safety guidelines, including social distancing, increased sanitizing methods and the wearing of face coverings for on-campus college activities.

“We are hopeful that we can reschedule an in-person graduation ceremony later in the fall, and also possibly a virtual graduation celebration in the immediate future,” Blevins said.
