The 5th-8th Grade Student Heritage Poster Competition, part of the Washington County Heritage Fair, is looking for entries to teach others “about local heritage through primary and secondary research.”

The competition has three specific categories, which include Family History, Local History, and Preservation/Conservation Projects. Each project will be judged by a judicial panel. Eligibility is open to any fifth- through eighth-grader who lives in Washington County.

Questions about the competition can be answered by the Jonesborough Genealogical Society at [email protected] or Chad Bailey at 423-791-8295. Students who need help with a project can also reach out.

Visit www.jgstn.org/annual-heritage-fair to enter and to learn more about eligibility, guidelines, categories and more. Click the online entry form or the Heritage Fair pamphlet for entry details. The deadline for entry is Monday, March 2.
