Program looking to teach local teens safe driving skills

Every year, more than 5,000 teens will lose their lives in automobile accidents.

The Tire Rack Street Survival program is hoping to cut that number by giving 15-21-year-olds an opportunity to learn how to better control their vehicles, and improve driver competence through hands-on experiences in real-world driving situations.

Students are also taught in their own cars, giving them experience they can use daily. On Nov. 2, that training will be available for Tri-Cities teens at Liberty Bell Middle School from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Forms, schedules and registration information can be found at www.streetsurvival.org, and costs $95.
