All of the following performances are open to the public:
• A Faculty Recital by Dr. Esther Park will be held Tuesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 E. Market St. Park is an assistant professor of piano and artistic director of the Pre-College Program in the Department of Music. The award-winning pianist studied at the Juilliard School in New York and the Yale School of Music and has performed in major venues throughout the U.S. and abroad. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and free for students with ID.
– “Bella Primavera,” featuring the ETSU Chorale, East Tennessee Belles and BucsWorth, will be presented Friday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 105 S. Boone St. The ensembles will perform works in a wide range of styles, conducted by Drs. Matthew Potterton and Alan Stevens. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.
– “World Music” will be presented by the ETSU Jazz Ensemble with guest saxophonist David Liebman on Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, 200 E. Mountcastle Drive. Led by Martin Walters, the Jazz Ensemble will perform multicultural jazz styles from Latin America, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, Asia and the U.S. Liebman, a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master and a renowned educator and author, began his career in the 1970s as the saxophonist/flautist in the Elvin Jones and Miles Davis groups and has continued as a bandleader since. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and free for students with ID.
