What will you remember most about high school?

“High school has been many lessons learned, mistakes made, and discovering who I am and what is important to me. I have grown so much from my Freshman year to now. One thing I will remember most is the day that my ACT results came in the mail. I was so afraid to open it so I had my mom do it. I made a 30! I cried, my mom cried and then we jumped up and down in the kitchen. Learning what truly counts has been my best memory of my high school years. Learning to stand for what I believe in, even if it is not the popular opinion.”

Who do you think you will be in the next 10 years?

“In the next 10 years, my goal is to become a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon. This has been my dream since I was young. I cannot wait to continue on to the University of Tennessee this fall and begin my journey. I hope to be changing the lives of children born with heart defects and volunteering with the International Children’s Heart Foundation in underdeveloped countries.”

What do you enjoy doing to relax with the pressures of such a fast-paced society?

“I truly enjoy my down time. I like going to the movies, going to dinner, and spending time with my family. They keep me grounded and give me the encouragement I need when life becomes hectic and crazy.”
