Undergraduate classes were canceled Wednesday for Milligan College’s “Wonderful Wednesday,” allowing students to enjoy a variety of activities including laser tag, disc golf, volleyball, water-sliding, an afternoon dodgeball tournament and a professionally produced fireworks display.

“Wonderful Wednesday” has been a Milligan tradition since 1969, and each year has a different theme.

The addition of the inflatable laser tag arena and Star Wars movie night suited this year’s theme, which officials said was set in space and inspired by science fiction movies.

“This may be the most anticipated day of the school year for our students,” Jason Onks, director of campus activities, said in a news release. “The day is packed with activities, games and special food leading up to a fireworks display at night.

“It’s a great way for students to take the mental break they need just before the final push to the end of the semester.”
