Educational walk: Johnson City Parks and Recreation will host a leisurely paced, mile-long educational walk at Willow Springs Park, 1201 Huffine Road, beginning promptly at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17. Families can learn how native flora and fauna survive during winter. No advance registration is required; $2 fee per participant. Meet in the main parking lot of the park. Information, 423-283-5821.

Therapy pool maintenance: The therapy pool at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., will be closed for maintenance Thursday, Feb. 15, from 7-11 a.m. Information, 423-434-5755. 

Fish fry: There will be an all-you-can-eat fish fry on Friday, Feb. 16, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Limestone Ruritan Club, 121 Limestone Ruritan Road in Limestone. $10 per person, church groups welcome. For large groups call 257-5995 or 257-6580 and let us know how many will be coming.

Flu Shot Friday: Special “Flu Shot Friday” clinics are being held in area health departments from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., including Washington, Carter, Greene, Unicoi, Hawkins, Hancock and Johnson counties. Information, www.tn.gov or call the health department in your county.
