The Crumley House needs your help

Johnson City Press • May 16, 2020 at 6:00 AM

A small but essential organization and the 50 people in our region it serves are in need of some helping hands right now.

The Crumley House in Limestone, which provides valuable rehabilitation and therapeutic day programming to help along the recovery of people with traumatic brain injuries, has suffered financially during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Its day program has been shut down for months to avoid the risk of spreading the virus to its staff and clients, and its two biggest annual fundraisers, the Joggin’ for the Noggin 5K and its beach party, have been canceled with no makeup dates set.

For a grassroots organization like the Crumley House, the loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars of expected yearly revenue could be devastating. Community support is vital to keeping its programs available for those who need them. Otherwise, they would have to travel outside the area for their recovery

Executive Director Guynn Edwards told Press Staff Writer Sue Legg that it may be possible to run the 5K later this year, but many of its reliable donors have also suffered financially during the pandemic.

It’s time for the individuals in this community to step in. Times are tough for almost everyone right now, but if enough new donors give what we can, we can help the Crumley House make up the difference.

The organization has set up an easy online donation process on its website, crumleyhouse.com, or checks can be mailed to The Crumley House, 300 Urbana Road, Limestone, TN 37681.

Don’t let this invaluable resource be lost.
