From backyard barbecues and picnics on the lawn to swim dates at the municipal pool and days on the lake, ‘tis the season for enjoying the outdoors.
In our neck of the woods, we’re fortunate to have plenty of opportunities for getting out and getting some fresh air. It’s one of our region’s qualities that draw visitors from out of town.
For this Question of the Week, though, we’d like to focus on parks, of which we have many. In Northeast Tennessee, we have parks managed by cities and counties, the state and federal agencies.
Just last week, Johnson City opened a new mountain bike park at Tannery Knobs, and Rocky Fork in Unicoi County is one of the newest state parks. Of course, who can forget about the Cherokee National Forest with its acres upon acres of scenic beauty?
There are so many to choose from, and we all have our favorites, but maybe you visit one that others have never been to.
