A Fall Branch man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2017 shooting deaths of a Boones Creek couple and their unborn child.

Derrick Sells, 35, entered a guilty plea in Washington County Criminal Court on Wednesday, according to a news release from the office of District Attorney General Kenneth Baldwin.

The charges stem from a shooting in December 2017 at the home of Kyanna Vaughn, 23, and Robert Vaughn, 25, in Boones Creek. A family friend discovered the Vaughns’ bodies around 7 p.m. on Dec. 4, 2017, after stopping by their mobile home on Friendship Court to check on the couple.

The couple’s two children were found inside the home unharmed.

Sells will have to serve a minimum of 51 years before appearing in front of the parole board.
