ELIZABETHTON — Three people were bound over to a Carter County grand jury on attempted murder charges following a preliminary hearing in Carter County Sessions Court on Friday morning. The three and another defendant were also bound over on aggravated kidnapping charges.

The charges stem from the alleged beating of a man inside an Elizabethton residence back in May. The victim was then allegedly taken to a wooded trail off Wilbur Dam Road, where he was abandoned.

The three defendants who are facing both attempted murder and aggravated kidnapping charges are: Blake Edward Adams, Angela Diane Hudson and Brandon Charles Kempson.

The fourth defendant in the preliminary hearing was Amy Trish Campbell. She also faced both attempted murder and aggravated kidnapping charges. Judge Keith Bowers Jr. dismissed the attempted murder charge against Campbell, but ordered that she be bound over on the aggravated kidnapping charge.

All four were ordered to report to Criminal Court on Sept. 23.
