After it became public that a downtown Johnson City massage therapist had been charged with touching a client inappropriately, a second woman came forward with an accusation that the man had raped her.

Craig W. Roberts, 50, 405 W. Locust St., Johnson City, was arrested in August after a female massage client told police Roberts grabbed her breast. The alleged incident happened July 31, and the case went to a grand jury in January. Roberts was indicted on a charge of sexual battery .

By that time, another woman had come forward with more allegations, Assistant District Attorney Erin McArdle said.

in July 2018, Roberts talked to the Johnson City Press about a new business he co-founded. At that time, Roberts told the Press he had worked as a massage therapist for 26 years. Roberts no longer works at that downtown center.

He was free on $5,000 bond on the first charges when he went to court last week for arraignment. He was arrested then on the new indictment that charged him with rape and sexual battery. Roberts is due back in court March 15.
