GREENEVILLE – A local man will spend the next six years in federal prison for the armed robbery of banks in Kingsport and Johnson City earlier this year.

Cameron Tyler Horne, 29, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Greeneville on Tuesday to 72 months in prison for the robbery of Capital Bank on South Roan Street in Johnson City on Jan. 20 and the Regions Bank on East Stone Drive in Kingsport on April 15.

In addition to the prison sentence, Horne received three years of supervised release and ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution to Capital Bank and $9,640 to Regions Bank. Horne faced up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Horne and his accomplices Robin Culp and Shannon Long were arrested in April and charged in a four-count indictment. Horne agreed to plead guilty to two bank robbery charges earlier this year.
