Completed applications must be submitted to Holston Habitat, PO Box 5265, Kingsport, TN 37663 by 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1. Approved homeowner applicants will be notified by Dec. 15, and work on the selected projects will be completed throughout 2019.
Eligible homes must be owner-occupied, single-family dwellings, and homeowners must be able to repay a portion of the repair costs through a no-interest Habitat home repair loan.
Alanna Leonberg, Holston Habitat homeowner services manager, said the program’s “affordable home repairs will improve the health and safety of the individuals and families living in the home, providing an important hand up.”
Because of the short deadline, interested homeowners are encouraged to act fast. They can visit www.HolstonHabitat.org for more information about the program or to print an application. Applications may also be requested by calling Holston Habitat at 423-239-7689.
Volunteers are also needed to assist with the home-repair program. Churches, businesses and individuals interested in participating as volunteers or project sponsors can visit www.HolstonHabitat.org or contact Mandy Penz, volunteer coordinator, at 423-239-7689 for more information.
