In a press release issued Thursday, the mall said reopening dates for individual tenants may vary and guests are encouraged to call ahead or follow the mall on social media for the most up-to-date information.
In order to preserve the safety of visitors, the mall has added items to its code of conduct, which will be effective immediately and until further notice.
- Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet from other people
- Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover as recommended
- Do not gather in groups
- Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies
- Adhere to federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding COVID-19
Additionally, the mall will continue its enhanced disinfectant and cleaning processes, which it said will occur multiple times per day.
The mall will also have alcohol-based hand sanitizer dispensers located in high traffic areas and walkways for public use. The mall said management is meeting with housekeeping on a daily basis and monitoring its hand sanitizer supply to ensure all dispensers are stocked.
“We are inspired by the resilience of our community and look forward to safely welcoming back our guests,” said Ashley Grindstaff, general manager at The Mall at Johnson City, in the press release. “We will continue to work with local, state and federal agencies to do all we can in order to contribute to the containment, treatment and prevention of COVID-19.”
