Tennessee gas prices rise more than 26 cents in a month

Tennessee gas prices have risen more than 4 cents in the past week, bringing Monday’s average gas price to $2.48 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline.

Gas prices are more than 26 cents higher per gallon compared to a month ago, according to a Monday GasBuddy report that said the cheapest station in Tennessee was priced at $2.19 per gallon while the most expensive station stood at $2.86. 

The average gas price in Johnson City stood at $2.42 per gallon while Kingsport and Bristol recorded an average of nearly $2.44 per gallon. 

While the national average stood at $2.69 on Monday after a nearly 27-cent jump from last month, the cheapest stations in the United States had gas price averages under $2, with one recording an average price of $1.75 per gallon.
