Actual electric service will not be disrupted to customers by the work, but the automated outage notification system will be down during the upgrade process.
While BrightRidge will continue to receive automatic notifications for large-scale outages, cluster and individual outages will not be received. As a result, BrightRidge is asking customers who experience a power outage during this period to notify it by calling 952-5000 and selecting option 1.
Outage notifications are currently provided by BrightRidge to customers in several ways. One is the outage map on BrightRidge.com. By clicking on the map link, customers can see outage information, such as outage totals by service districts.
This information is also available to BrightRidge customers through the SmartHub app available for smartphones and via the web.
Customers can sign up for SmartHub through the web portal at BrightRidge.com. They can also bookmark the website and make their own link directly to the outage map.
Again, the outage map and SmartHub data from the BrightRidge website will be unavailable during the upgrade.
