Steven James, a bestselling author and graduate of East Tennessee State University, will speak at the American Advertising Federation of Northeast Tennessee’s July Ad Club meeting on July 19 to talk about the importance of content development and effective storytelling.

The session will last from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

“We actually had a connection with him through a past member who had heard him speak and had nothing but good things to say of his presentations,” Jenny Kontos, an author at AAF and founder of Kontos Creative, said. “He developed a program for business professionals on the principles of storytelling.”

James’ seminar, titled “The Power of Story,” shares insights that relate to storytellers of all types. Attendees will learn how to tap into their own experiences to shape the stories they tell to motivate and influence those with whom they work and serve.

The event will include lunch and is free for AAF NETN members. Non-members can attend for $25, which must be paid in advance. All attendees must register for the event at www.aafnetn.com/event.
