HENDERSONVILLE, North Carolina —At an elevation of 3,000 feet, North Carolina's newest brewery lets you drink wine and look out over sweeping views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.

Point Lookout Vineyards opened June 16 and is a winery located on Point Lookout Mountain. The winery includes a 4,000 square foot open air pavilion for events and tastings and a lawn with a 270-degree view.

In a news release, the owner, Mike Jackson, said the land has been in his family for three generations and in addition to private events, the spot will host live music, chef's dinners and more.

Point Lookout Winery offers 10 different wines and some meads. The grapes for the wine are grown on-site and made at Windsor Run Cellars in Hamptonville, North Carolina.
