Joshua McFall, a local health care executive, has been named chief financial officer for Ballad Health’s southwest market, which encompasses Johnson City Medical Center, Niswonger Children’s Hospital, Franklin Woods Community Hospital, Woodridge Hospital and Overmountain Recovery.

McFall comes to this role after a tenure as the chief financial officer at Franklin Woods and Woodridge, a position he held since 2014. There, he was responsible for overseeing finances and developing facility-specific initiatives that enhanced care and improved performance.

McFall began his career with the health system as a financial analyst. He then progressed through roles of increasing responsibility in the corporate finance department before assuming leadership of financial operations at Franklin Woods and Woodridge.

His time at those facilities was marked with Truven Health Analytics 100 Top Hospitals awards in 2016 and 2017 at Franklin Woods. While serving in that role, McFall was also named to The Business Journal of Tri-Cities Tennessee/Virginia’s 2016 40 Under Forty class, and he also became a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
