The Blue Devils were blazing with Brock Thompson torching the nets for 28 points. Caleb Adkins fired up another 13 and Brett Lingerfelt added seven.
Elijah Blair cut loose to score 29 of the Highlanders’ points.
Johnson County 60, Unaka 52
MOUNTAIN CITY — One of four Johnson County players in double-digit scoring, Ethan Bower piled up 18 points.
Michael Oxentine had 13 points, Lucas Phillips 12 and Clayton Cross 10 for the winners, who took control of the game with an 18-5 second quarter.
Ryan Johnson was high man for the Rangers, netting 18 points. Will Sexton followed closely, scoring 16, and Dylan Whitehead dropped in 10.
South Greene 62, Hampton 58
HAMPTON — The Rebels jumped out to a 12-point halftime lead and held on to win the game.
Sully Fox snuck in 18 points for the Rebels and Clint Lamb feasted with 15. Isaac Hoese added 10 in the victory.
Rocky Croy and Jordan Bentley scored 11 points apiece for the Bulldogs. Conor Jones netted nine.
Tri-Cities Christian 62, Cedar View Christian 45
KINGSPORT — Drew Correll and Adam Pigeon recorded double-doubles as the Eagles flew away from the Seahawks in the fourth quarter. Correll had 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Pigeon had a 15-point, 10-rebound night.
Tri-Cities’ Gavyn Etter totaled 16 points with three baskets from 3-point range. Nick Rose blossomed for 18 points and Will Jones had 17 for Cedar View.
Cloudland 48, Unicoi County 43
ROAN MOUNTAIN — Gracie Freeman went 12-for-14 at the free-throw line, scoring a game-high 16 points to lead the Lady Highlanders over the Lady Devils.
Jasmine Birchfield added to the Cloudland cause with a 10-point effort.
Caroline Podvin was Unicoi County’s leader with 15 points. Tenley Holt and Jocelyn Metcalf each scored nine.
Johnson County 49, Unaka 40
MOUNTAIN CITY — The Lady Longhorns imposed their will defensively in the first half, holding the Lady Rangers to just nine points.
Taylor Cox provided Johnson County with plenty of offense, racking up 21 points. Taylor Parsons ended with eight.
Unaka’s Lyndie Ramsey broke free in the second half and ended with 14 points. Jada Whitehead scored seven.
South Greene 67, Hampton 34
HAMPTON — The tradition-rich Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Bulldogs 33-11 in the second half for the runaway win. Addison Williams, Kaley Collins and Jayden Merriweather all finished with 13 points, while Jordyn Roderick scored 10.
Madison McClain was Hampton’s leading scorer with 10 and Bridgett Heaton contributed eight.
Volunteer 56, West Greene 35
MOSHEIM — Aliyah Crawley posted a 15-point effort in leading the Lady Falcons to the road win over the Lady Buffaloes.
Audrey Evans chimed in with 11 points and Kenady Knittel tallied nine, all on shots behing the 3-point line. Tayli Rader was West Greene’s leading scorer with 11 points.
Providence Academy 52, Asheville School 29
Drawing a career-high 32 points from Christen Sholes, the Lady Knights handily beat the visitors from across the North Carolina state line.
Sholes knocked in five of the Lady Knights’ seven 3-pointers, helping improve coach Mike Cash’s team to 5-2 on the season.
Shutting out Asheville 13-0 in the second quarter, Providence led 33-10 at halftime.
