CHURCH HILL — Eli Churchwell tallied 20 points as the Falcons won the opening round of the Battle of Hawkins County.
Hunter Skelton and Leyton Patrick scored 16 points each in front of a packed gymnasium. Chance Johnson added a dozen in the victory.
Ryan Bledsoe poured in 29 points to lead the Chiefs. Breiydon Gilliam added 13 points, while Carter Metz and Bailey Broyles each finished with eight points.
Tennessee High 73, Sullivan East 59
BRISTOL — Christian Webb had a team-best 17 points in the Vikings’ win over the Patriots. He was closely followed by Brandon Brown with 16 points.
Dustin Bartley was the leading scorer for Sullivan East with 20 points and Adam Davison finished with 15 points.
Sullivan North 48, Providence Academy 41
Tyler Depriest netted 18 points to lead the Golden Raiders over the Knights. Trey Williams came through with 10 points and Evan Bishop added eight.
Cameron Patterson had 12 and Ben Jones had eight to lead Providence.
Tri-Cities Christian 62, Temple Baptist 59
KNOXVILLE — Drew Correll scored 15 points and Gavyn Etter tossed in 13 to lead the Eagles (1-4) to their first win of the season.
Seth Sullivan netted 19 points and Mark Berley ended with a dozen.
Cedar View 58, Calvary Kingston 49
KINGSPORT — Andrew Trent totaled 22 points to lead Cedar View to the win. Nick Rose with 12 points and Matthew Perry with 11 also ended in double digits.
Landon Treadway led the way for Calvary with 15 points, followed by TJ Vestal with 13 and Jordan Snow with 10.
Johnson County 49, Elizabethton 35
MOUNTAIN CITY — Taylor Cox had 21 points, while Natalie Winters and Taylor Parsons each had seven to lead the Lady Longhorns over the Lady Cyclones.
Kaylen Shell finished with a game-high 23 points to lead Elizabethton, whose next highest scorer was Abbey Townsend with five.
Sullivan North 44, Providence Academy 35
A strong fourth quarter enabled Sullivan North to shake off the pesky Lady Knights in a non-conference affair.
The game was tied at 24 before the Lady Golden Raiders outscored Providence 20-11 over the course of the final stanza.
Lilly Crawford showed the way for North, tossing in 13 points. Christen Sholes matched that total for the Knights, who got nine points from Lilygrace Honeycutt.
Cedar View 45, Calvary Kingston 32
KINGSPORT — Brooklyn Derrick posted a total of 16 points and 21 rebounds to lead Cedar View to the win. Macie Salyers totaled nine points and 16 rebounds. Kara Seabolt ended with 11 points and Jenni Droke dished out five assists.
Blaklee Turner was the leading scorer for Calvary with 10 points and Kara Spakes finished with seven points.
