Hampton was led by Morgan Lyons with 16 points while Izaak Hill pitched in 11.
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 18-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Cougars were far from done as they slowly crawled back into the game.
Central was down only nine points at the half and made a run behind Trey Rosenbaum getting eight points in the second quarter. He did miss three free throws that would have cut the deficit even more.
Hampton took over in the third quarter and never looked back, hanging 21 on the board in the third as opposed to Central’s nine. Hill made three 3-pointers in the quarter alone and outscored Central by himself getting a layup late.
Rosenbaum led the Cougars with 14 points while Ben Williams (12) and Caleb Rose (11) also had double figures.
Saturday’s action has Hampton playing Tri-Cities Christian at 4 p.m. Central will be in action against KACHEA at 1.
Sullivan East 97, Tri-Cities Christian 48
BLUFF CITY — Sullivan East breezed into the Triten championship game with a runaway win over Tri-Cities Christian.
Bryson Burgess pumped through a game-high 19 points for the Patriots. With Adam Davison accounting for all 18 of his points and Burgess tossing in 13, Sullivan East mounted a 58-18 halftime advantage.
Johnathan Walden added 12 points (11 in second half), Eric Hare 11 and Trey Lowe 10 to the winning cause, which included 11 3-pointers.
Drew Correll recorded an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double to top the Eagles. Brandon Bullock contributed 13.
East will battle Morristown West in Saturday’s final. Action is scheduled to begin at 7.
Morristown West 74, KACHEA 35
BLUFF CITY — The Trojans were simply too much for the Wildcats as four players scored in double-digits for Morristown West.
Makai Olden led the charge with 18 points while Jamal Spradling contributed with 14.
KACHEA was led by Jeffery Hicks with 10 points.
Sullivan East 68, Hampton 49
BLUFF CITY—Ambushing Hampton with a 21-6 first quarter, Sullivan East went on to collect a one-sided victory over Hampton.
Kayla Honaker was the chief scoring catalyst for the Lady Patriots, tossing in all of her 16 points in the first half. Hayley Grubb finished the game with 14 and Kylee Wolfe scored 11.
The Lady Bulldogs were paced by Stephanie Campbell, who registered a game-high 22 points. Trinity Camillo chipped in nine.
Unicoi County 65, State Line 49
BLUFF CITY—The Lady Blue Devils got out to an early nine-point lead and made it stand up as State Line never get closer than four points the rest of the way.
Chloe Powers led Unicoi with 17 points while Caroline Podvin had 14 and Kaylee Hendrickson poured in 10.
The Lady Devils were able to knock down their free throws towards the end and pull away, nailing down all eight attempts they shot in the final quarter.
Kacie Shaffner led State Line, a home school from Galax, Va., with 20 points while Audrey Clark had 17.
Sullivan East 84, State Line Rush 64
BLUFF CITY — Kylee Wolfe poured in 28 points for the Lady Patriots in a win over State Line Rush. Wolfe nailed seven 3-pointers on the evening and led the five-pronged attack for East.
Kayla Honaker (16), Mattie Gouge (14), Hayley Grubb (11) and Riley Nelson (10) were all solid contributors in a total team effort by the Patriots.
State Line Rush was led by Audrey Clark with 21. Ashlyn Bartley added 19 and Kacie Shaffer 13.
