High school roundup: Lady Patriots turn back Rangers

BLUFF CITY— In the first round of the annual Triten Insurance Thanksgiving tournament, Sullivan East got past Unaka 58-50 for a home-court victory on Tuesday night.

Kayla Honaker and Kylee Wolfe spearheaded the attack for East with 17 and 14 points, respectively.

Myah Parlier led the Lady Rangers with 19 points while Savannah Tipton contributed 10.

Hancock County 47, Providence Academy 23

The Lady Indians were led by Lainey Dalton with 14 points in the win over Providence. Payton Neely also contributed in the winning effort, scoring 11.

The Lady Knights were led by Katie Cross with 12 points.


Sullivan East 90, KACHEA 61

BLUFF CITY—Dustin Bartley and Trey Lowe combined for 35 points in a Triten Classic win that featured 15 3-pointers by the Patriots.

Bartley accounted for 18 points and four treys while Lowe sank three 3-pointers in a 17-point showing. Sullivan East’s Dayne Davis contributed 13 points.

Leading the way for the Wildcats were Jeffery Hicks with 13 points and Caleb Phillips with 10.

Hancock County 59, Providence Academy 51

The Knights, led by Cameron Patterson with 18 points, fell short in their battle with Hancock County. Patterson made four 3-pointers in the loss.

Hunter Reid added a 14-point effort for Providence. Andrew Coots led the Indians with 19 points and Hunter Holt poured in 15.
