— Charlie Bayless’ 60 seasons as a head coach and 59 years at Happy Valley are national records. His teams made nine state tournament appearances and won the school’s second state championship in 1974.

— Buck Van Huss holds the Tennessee coaching record for wins at 1,021. His teams lost just 313 games in 37 years. He did not begin coaching until he was 35 years old.

— In 1971, Dickie Warren coached the Tennessee All-Star Basketball Team. The Sullivan Central High School gymnasium was named “The Dickie Dome” in his honor when he retired in 2007 with 907 wins and 408 losses.

— Back in his playing days, Bobby Snyder led the Washington County League in scoring with 21.6 points per game in 1954-55. As a coach, Snyder was named conference coach of the year 10 days and his teams set a record of 66 straight league wins.
